A browser extension that applies audio dynamics compression to media in your
tabs, with optional per-output-device presets.
EZ Compressor does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal
data. Everything it does happens locally in your browser.
▲ What the extension accesses, and why
Audio on web pages. It processes the audio of
<audio> and <video> elements on pages
where you play media, routing it through the Web Audio compressor. This audio
is processed in real time on your device and is never recorded, copied, or
sent anywhere.
Your settings. Your presets and per-device preferences are
saved using the browser's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local). They stay on your device (syncing only
through your own browser profile if you've enabled browser sync) and are never
sent to us or any third party.
Microphone (optional, names only). Per-device switching
needs to tell your outputs apart (speakers vs. headphones). Chrome reveals
audio device names only after a one-time microphone permission. If you
enable per-device mode, the extension requests it solely to read device
names — no audio is captured, recorded, analyzed, stored, or
transmitted, and the stream is released immediately. You can use the extension
without ever granting this.
Audio output devices. It reads the list of audio output
devices to identify which is currently active, used only on your device to
apply the matching preset.

We do not collect personally identifiable information.
We do not track your browsing history or page content.
We do not record or transmit any audio.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers.
We do not sell or share any data with anyone.
We do not run remote or hosted code; all code ships inside the extension.
▲ Payments and tips
EZ Compressor is free. The popup includes an optional link to a third-party
tipping page (Buy Me a Coffee). The extension itself does not process, request, or
store any payment information; following the link simply opens that provider's
website in a new tab, where their own privacy policy applies.
▲ Data retention and deletion
Your settings live in local browser storage. Removing the extension, or clearing
its data from your browser, deletes them completely.
